Now a little about the instruments....
The Kanjira is a southern Indian frame drum that is rooted in classical Indian music. It is a member of the tambourine family and produces a very musical tone.
The Tabla, also an Indian instrument, is comprised of two hand drums that each produce an extensive variety of sound.
The Shekere is an African percussion instrument. It is essentially a dried gourd surrounded by a net of beads. It's tone is distinct and can be heard extensively on Afro-beat recordings made by Fela Kuti.
The Doumbek (also know as Goblet Drum) is an ancient arabic percussion instrument. It has a very responsive drum head and produces a crisp, warm sound.
