Great profile video on Hollywood Sound Designer Frank Serafine.

Some across-the-pond associates of mine, Soundsnap.com are launching what appears to be an inspiration series for sample and loop enthusiasts.  I personally think this is a great video and couldn’t help but be amused at Tron alumnist, Frank Serafine, chasing after live chickens with a Zoom H4n Handy Recorder. As a side note, Serafine was also the sound designer for one of my personal favorites, The Lawnmower Man. Remember all those digital world sound environments? Truely an achievement.

Happy New Year! Welcome to the BandmateLoops Blog..

Photo 2Happy New Year Everyone.  Wow I can’t believe it’s 2010!  It feels like yesterday when I was a young kid tinkering in my room with my Apple Mac Plus (60mb Ehman Hard Drive, 4mb of Ram)  a DX-7, MOTU Performer 1.0 and my MidiMan midi interface.  Boy times have sure changed.  In those days (1980’s) a dream setup was a Synclavier or a Fairlight system costing $200k or more. Now, get  a new iMac 27″, Logic Audio (or insert your favorite DAW here)  and an audio interface and you got one sweet system.  This system is obviously much cheaper and it sure takes up a lot less space.
